Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day, so I’m finally doing something I’ve been meaning to do: sharing the complete, uncut video of our wedding drone show.

What my wedding drone show represents

This show represents more than just a wedding sendoff (though it beat the hell out of sparklers).

It represents a decade of covering this industry. It represents every drone show Hamilton and I traveled to see together — including the one at Disneyland Paris just days after he proposed at Neuschwanstein Castle. It represents the first drone show we ever watched together at an Oakland A’s game in 2023.

Most importantly, it represents the unwavering support of my husband, Hamilton Nguyen. His willingness to let me chase this weird career covering drones, even when it meant irregular hours and constant travel. His understanding when I disappear into my office for hours researching the latest FCC regulations or testing new hardware.

And in fact, longtime readers may already know Hamilton already. He handles my business contracts while I’m out flying. He’s listened to me rant about FCC regulations more times than any human should have to endure. He takes most of the videos and photos you see of me on this site.

My wedding drone show also represents all of you. Every person who’s read an article, left a comment, or emailed saying The Drone Girl helped you pass your Part 107, choose your first drone or just understand this technology better.

A simple thank you and much love for this community

So ahead of this Valentine’s Day, I just want to say thank you.

Thank you to Hamilton for being my rock, my cheerleader and my tech support. Thank you for supporting The Drone Girl before it was anything, and for continuing to support it (and me) every single day.

Thank you to Electric Sky Drone Shows and UVify for making this magical drone show happen.

And thank you to this community for being part of this journey. For caring about drones. For engaging with the content. For making this more than I ever imagined it could be.

The drone industry keeps evolving with new regulations, new tech and new challenges. Some days it’s overwhelming. But then I remember why I started: because drones are genuinely amazing, and sharing that with others brings me joy.

Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day. May your skies be clear and your batteries fully charged.

— Sally
