Engine Makers Explore Several Paths to Decarbonization – Feb. 18, AIN


The big three turbofan makers, CFM International, Pratt & Whitney and Rolls-Royce are heavily investing in multistage work to decarbonize air transport, AIN reported. These manufacturers are starting with standardizing the use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), working on hybrid-electric propulsion systems and seek to ultimately reach electric and hydrogen propulsion.
