DRL Flight Club loyalty program offers rewards for racing (and spending money) with DRL

If you’re addicted to all things Drone Racing League, well, you might as well get rewarded for it. DRL today launched what’s called DRL Flight Club, a loyalty program designed to give you DRL-themed rewards to recognize the time and money you commit to spending with DRL.

Once registered, you’ll earn points by purchasing DRL merchandise, registering for DRL races, downloading DRL’s suite of racing games, and engaging with DRL’s digital content.

You can then redeem your rewards points for DRL-related items including DRL live event access, limited edition apparel, and extra plus-ups within the DRL SIM video game, Drone Racing Arcade mobile game, and upcoming Fly-to-Own NFT drone racing game.

Of course, it wouldn’t be DRL without another tech-related tie-in. PointsKash, which is the platform that runs the DRL Flight Club loyalty program, is blockchain-enabled, which is a bit of marketing jargon which basically just means that currencies are earned and redeemed through a decentralized platform. The platform also leverages Algorand’s blockchain platform (Algorand is a major sponsor for DRL).

DRL says the partnership with PointsKash is a five-year deal, so your rewards will be able to be spent and redeemed at least until then. What’s nice about PointsKash is that, if you have points across various loyalty rewards programs, you can consolidate those benefits into one centralized PointsKash account and use them towards DRL’s drone racing events, gaming products and swag. You can also convert your loyalty rewards points into cash. PointsKash has other partnerships with sporting teams including the Florida Panthers Hockey Club and the New Orleans Saints.

To get in on the DRL Flight Club loyalty program, you’ll have to download the PointsKash mobile app, which will be released in December 2022 during the 2022-23 DRL Algorand World Championship Season.

That world championship season premiere race, the Race in the Cloud Presented by Google Cloud, actually already happened this month at a live event that happened last month at Silicon Valley’s PayPal Park. But for folks who want to watch the recorded version, it’ll premiere on NBC, Tiktok, Twitter, Twitch, Youtube, Instagram and Facebook on Saturday, Nov. 19.
