Autel isn’t exactly playing coy with its upcoming product launch. While some other tech launches shroud themselves, Autel is making it pretty clear what it’s launching. Next week, Autel is set to publicly launch its Autel Titan, which is designed for transportation and delivery, and its Autel Alpha, a new enterprise drone.
The new products are set to make their first public appearance at the 7th Annual Energy Drone & Robotics Summit, which is one of the top drone events from 2023. The three-day event is set to kick off on Monday, June 12 and will run through Wednesday, June 14.
While we don’t have exact details on the Autel Titan and Autel Alpha, expect them to be revealed here just in time for the launch. And if you do happen to be in attendance at the 7th Annual Energy Drone & Robotics Summit (which is happening in Houston, Texas), then stop by Autel’s booth at #413. Booth #413 is set to be a prime location placed in the center of the event.
Though, it seems likely that the Autel Alpha will be an ultra-durable industrial-grade drone capable of multi-payloads, likely wide and zoom cameras, plus thermal cameras.
And the idea of a delivery drone made by a major drone maker could potentially be incredibly compelling. DJI currently does not sell a delivery drone of its own, and it’s generally tough to get your hands on a ready-made delivery drone. Most of the most well-known delivery drone vehicles are made by the major delivery drone service providers themselves including Zipline, Flytrex and Google-sibling Wing, which are proprietary drones made in-house (and not for sale to others). There are otherwise few options of ready-to-fly delivery drones. For now, the only really compelling option is the American-made drone RDSX Pelican, which comes from Los Angeles-based A2Z Drone Delivery and uses a hybrid VTOL design that can handle up to 5 kg payloads on up to 40 km routes. Prices start at $29,000.
Other updates coming to existing Autel drones
Beyond two all-new products, it also looks like Autel might drop some updates to (or at least will publicly displasy) its EVO Max 4T, EVO Max 4N and EVO Nest. The original EVO Max 4T launched earlier this year at CES 2023 and costs about $9,000. Meanwhile, the EVO Max 4N followed as a more powerful, semi-autonomous drone with clear night-time imaging capabilities and the ability to use thermal imaging (and costs a heftier $12,000).
And the Autel EVO NEST is not a drone but rather a base for automatic take-off, landing, charging, and mission planning for EVO series drones, capable of operating in all types of weather, and small enough to be transported in a standard pickup truck.
With all the updates, it looks like Autel is pivoting away from consumer camera drones, which is a market DJI has largely cornered. And instead, Autel is leaning heavily into its Airborne ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) Solution, which focuses on building drones for industrial applications including energy and electricity distribution networks, gas and oil, public safety, traffic, emergency rescue and mapping.
What to know about the 7th Annual Energy Drone & Robotics Summit
The 7th Annual Energy Drone & Robotics Summit claims to be the largest event in the world for the combined industries of not just drones but also other aspects of robotics and data, artificial intelligence and machine learning as it pertains to energy and industrial operations. And while drones are an aspect of the summit, other technology in the mix include satellites and robotics robots that rove everywhere from the stars to the sea floor.
This three-day event is project to bring thousands of attendees from around the world, most of whom already work in the energy sector. And it’s all happening at the Woodlands Waterway Marriott in Houston, Texas.
The event also has a law component run by drone industry influencer Dawn Zoldi, who is hosting Law-Tech Connect: Energy Edition. Law-Tech Connect is a half-day, co-located event held on Monday, June 12 that will focus on the tech and policies that specifically impact the energy sector, including panels on BVLOS, methane compliance, ship to shore and ship to ship ops, and critical security infrastructure.
It’s being held at the Woodlands Waterway Marriott in Houston, Texas.
Where else can I see the Autel Titan and Autel Alpha in real life?
For people in Asia (or who are looking for an excuse to be in Asia), Autel is also taking its products to Thailand and Japan this month, where they’ll be on display at various drone conferences and technology expos. Later this year, Autel’s drones will also be showcased at various events elsewhere in the world.

And while it’s too early for the Autel Titan and Autel Alpha release, Autel will also be demonstrating its existing tech at the ICTCOMM VIETNAM 2023 event, which is set for the end of this week, running June 8-10 in Ho Chi Minh City.
